Arlion Sector #
Centrally located at the nexus of RSC-enabled trade routes, the Arlion Sector is a vital hub for interstellar commerce and communication. It serves as a technological nexus, hosting some of the most advanced RSC and RON facilities, which reflect the UEC’s pioneering role in interstellar travel technologies. Most companies within the UEC are headquartered on Arlion Prime, with the bulk of industrial activity occurring on Arlion Secundus. The central RON control hub orbits Arlion Prime, with an RSC station strategically positioned between each of the planets, forming an essential interplanetary highway.
Star #
A G-type main-sequence star, similar to the Sun, providing a warm and stable environment for the system’s planets.
Arlion Prime #
Arlion Prime serves as the political and economic capital, housing the main UEC headquarters, the central RON control hub, and major RSC stations. Features include advanced urban infrastructure and several major spaceports equipped with Class I to Class V RSCs, alongside the RON management complex.
Arlion Secundus: #
Affectionately known as “The Farm” within the solar system, Arlion Secundus is a manufacturing powerhouse and the home of Stellar Forge Industries among other key players in RSC production. Stellar Forge stands out as the only company in its class headquartered on Secundus, with most other companies operating satellite offices. Although the planet was originally a primary source of agriculture, it has transitioned to feature industrial greenhouses, with much of the land now dedicated to industry. Thus, “The Farm” has extensive industrial zones, RSC construction, and maintenance facilities, and a network of industrial RSCs (Class III) for heavy freight. While some locals have begun calling it “The Forge,” residents of Prime often refer to it as “The Farm,” sometimes in a slightly derogatory tone.
Jen #
Jen is one of two gas giants in the system and is the closer one to the main planets. It serves as the primary source of rare gases and energy, critical for RSC operations. Maintaining infrastructure here is of critical importance, with gas extraction platforms featuring dedicated RSCs (Class II) to ensure efficient resource transport to manufacturing centers.
Arlia Cluster #
The Arlia Cluster is an asteroid field that serves as the central mining region, supplying raw materials for RSC construction and other technological needs. It is populated by technicians and security personnel, with many automated mining stations in operation. Class I and Class II RSCs facilitate rapid transport of minerals to Prime and Secundus.
Key Infrastructure #
RON Command Center #
The RON Command Center is at the heart of the RSC network, coordinating corridor operations, maintenance, and security across UEC territories.
Stellar Forge Propulsion Labs #
These leading R&D facilities specialize in propulsion systems and RSC technology, driving innovations that enhance corridor efficiency and safety.
RON Communication Arrays #
Advanced systems here manage the flow of data and communications through the RSC network, ensuring seamless interstellar connectivity.
Cultural and Social Aspects #
Economic Diversity #
The integration of RSC and RON technologies has given rise to a multifaceted economy in the Arlion Sector, marked by cutting-edge manufacturing, robust research and development initiatives, and dynamic trade and logistics sectors. This technological prowess underpins the sector’s economic vitality and its pivotal role in interstellar commerce.
Economic Disparity #
Given the importance of resources for RSC maintenance and expansion, control over these resources (like rare gases from Jen or raw materials from the Arlia Cluster) can become a significant factor in wealth accumulation. Entities that secure control over resource extraction and processing facilities hold considerable economic power, exacerbating wealth disparities. Access to education, particularly in fields relevant to RSC and RON technologies, can be a major determinant of economic opportunity. Those with the means to afford specialized education and training can secure well-paying jobs in the burgeoning tech sector, while others may find themselves stuck in lower-wage, less secure positions. The industrial and high-tech sectors might employ labor practices that contribute to economic disparity, such as contract work, automation that displaces workers, or demanding conditions that only a few can sustain long-term, leading to significant disparities in income and job security.
Current Challenges #
Security and Piracy #
The strategic importance of the Arlion Sector’s RSCs, coupled with their advanced technology, makes them a magnet for piracy and targeted sabotage. Despite state-of-the-art security protocols, the constant threat from well-organized pirate factions and covert operatives necessitates an ongoing commitment to vigilance and the continuous evolution of defense strategies.
Resource Allocation #
The relentless demand for resources, essential for the upkeep and expansion of the RSC network, has placed a significant strain on the Arlion Sector’s infrastructure and resource management systems. This pressure not only fuels political debates over resource prioritization but also ignites economic tensions, as stakeholders vie for control over critical assets and supply chains.
